About Our Patrons
Rex Howling QC, took silk in 2011. He enjoys a broad family practice, specialising in matrimonial law with particular emphasis on complicated care cases. He is a member of the Family Law Bar Association and Association of Lawyers for Children Resolution. Rex lives locally and is married with three children.
Lady Ruggles-Brise, Deputy Lieutenant and the 831st High Sherriff of Essex, is a life-long supporter of voluntary organisations. Born and bred in Scotland and a mother of five, she moved to Essex in 1975 when she married Sir Timothy Ruggles-Brise. Lady Ruggles-Brise runs the family business at Spains Hall, a hospitality business and a wedding venue.
